Brief Bio:
Trevor was born in Farmington, NC. He was the perfect puppy, eager to please me and easy to train. Casey, my Labrador, fostered his interest in tennis balls at an early age. She would carry a ball to him, drop it in front of him, and then patiently go pick it up and do it all over again when he pounced on the ball and only succeeded in knocking it away (his mouth was too small to grasp it at first). As soon as Casey had Trevor properly trained to chase and retrieve the ball, she retired from the job of family "retriever" and left the work to him. Trevor began learning flyball in the summer of 2002, approximately eight weeks before his tournament debut at New River Express over Labor Day weekend with the newly formed First in Flight. The team needed a height dog, and Trevor was it. He ran in the start dog position, and did a pretty decent job of getting his ball and bringing it back. The only problem was that as soon as he crossed the finish line, he would drop the ball, turn around, and chase the next dog back down the lane. After eventually mastering flyball, Trevor moved on to both agility and pet therapy as well. He enjoys both activities, but his first love has always been flyball. At home, Trevor is the undisputed boss of the pack, keeping the other dogs in line. He prefers people to other dogs, and is generally found curled up on the sofa next to me with his head in my lap. His favorite trick is stealing my shoes (while I'm wearing them!)
